Who is James Braswell?

Although only 28 years old, James is an accomplished individual for a person his age. He was the first person in his family to earn a Juris Doctor degree. James also passed the Maryland Bar Exam on his first attempt.

“I never envisioned myself going to law school. I always thought I would follow my father’s example and own a small business. However, after studying political science at North Carolina State, I realized that I wanted to serve my community by being a delegate in Maryland ’s General Assembly.
Law school was the next logical step. Now, I have a formal legal education which allows me to be both a strong and competent voice for our community.”

James, a native of Pasadena, is what local politics needs; a fresh voice with a strong sense of justice and a connection to the community. The son of a small business owner and a teacher, James wants to bring back accountability to public officials.

“Most modern politicians care more about their position of power than the people they serve. They do not encourage community involvement nor are they active in their local communities. Additionally, most politician serve well past their usefulness. It is time to put an end to career politicians.”

James has deep roots in the community having been a Boy Scout in Troop 770, a member of Community United Methodist Church, and a Mason.
